Role Summary:

As a Product Designer at WeTravel, you’ll report to our Head of Product and develop a deep understanding of our users, their jobs to be done, and the challenges that keep them up at night. In this capacity, you will build a strong working relationship with our product teams as you turn user needs and product strategies into elegant and enjoyable experiences for customers. Your team will depend on you to ensure our solutions continue to be the best-fit solution for our users.

Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with fellow designers, engineers, product managers, and others in a highly collaborative environment to design experiences that improve the lives of our users, particularly focusing on the traveler’s experience on WeTravel
  • Being an active contributor to the product team culture at WeTravel
  • Articulating the rationale behind your design decisions
  • Creating the design artifacts that your team needs to be successful: journey maps, sketches, wireframes, flowcharts, diagrams, and of course, pixel-perfect designs
  • Building prototypes and performing the user testing necessary to validate your designs with customers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts

Requirements:

  • Strong opinions, loosely held - confidence in their own ideas, humility to recognize great ideas from others, and a willingness to compromise when required
  • Experience being the designer on a product team that’s shipped SaaS product features. History of iterating and improving those features with metrics is a plus
  • Experience contributing to a design system
  • Advanced proficiency with Figma
  • Conversant in HTML & CSS. Javascript experience is a plus
  • A UX-focused portfolio demonstrating how you’ve uncovered and met real human needs behind the software you’ve designed.
